The Player's Cut

A focused, trustworthy brand built to secure remote income for professional athletes.

Design Intent

I designed the Player's Cut logo around the letter “P,” shaping the angled stroke to echo the cut of a hockey stick and blade.
The form is minimal, direct, and instantly readable.

The identity is sharp, credible, and career-focused, with the logo serving as the visual anchor that can scale into various applications.

I made its palette use dark navy (#0A1A33), white (#FFFFFF), black (#000000), and two controlled grays (#BBBFC6 and #5A6675). Navy was chosen as a base to communicate trust and reliability.

Bauer Bodoni Bold is used for headlines because it feels editorial and aspirational while still reading as professional. Helvetica Now is used for body because it is clean, readable, and neutral. Together, this creates an athletic-corporate hybrid tone.

Key Decisions

Used section-level overlays to maintain focus.
The copy was written to communicate directly to the athlete’s identity to establish
connection, feeling like a real conversation rather than a pitch.
Kept page sequence linear so the user naturally moves from
who it’s for → why it matters → what to do next.

Outcome

The Player’s Cut now has a brand and website that feel structured, legitimate, and trustworthy. The identity gives them the presence of a real agency, and the offer is delivered in a way that is easy to understand and act on.
